How to import a car from Korea in 2026: step by step

The full scheme: where cars are sourced, what delivery and customs cost, and which pitfalls to avoid.

Korea remains the main source of fresh, well-kept cars for Kyrgyzstan: no right-hand drive issues, rich trim levels, and one of the best service cultures in the world. Let’s break down the process and the price structure.

Where cars are sourced

The main platforms are Encar and K-Car, plus the closed Autohub and Lotte dealer auctions. Every lot comes with an insurance report: accidents, part replacements, true mileage. Our buyer in Incheon inspects cars in person before bidding.

Timing and costs

The standard route: Incheon → Lianyungang (sea, 3–5 days) → rail to Bishkek. 15–30 days total. The turnkey price covers buyout, logistics, EAEU customs, the recycling fee and plates. For a 2019–2021 sedan, customs typically adds 25–35% of the car price. Importantly, with us delivery is paid after the car arrives in Bishkek.

Common DIY mistakes

Typical problems: wiring money to a private importer without a contract, buying from photos without inspection, and forgetting the recycling fee that turns a “bargain” into a couple thousand dollars extra. Work only under contract with a legal entity and demand a full cost sheet before any prepayment.
